ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Megan Karr and I am so thankful that you have visited my about me section. I am an avid writer who is inspired by Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Edgar Allen Poe, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and many others. While writing is one of my passions, I also love teaching and ministering to children and families. I hope you find my site enjoyable, informative, and inspiring.

I am currently pursuing a Masters in Christian Education at Dallas Theological Seminary and working as a Children's Ministry Resident at Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, TX. I am passionate about good stories that encourage young readers toward biblical truths.

I live in Dallas, TX, but spent four years living in Springfield, MO attending Missouri State University where I graduated in spring of 2017 with a Bachelors degree in English Creative Writing and a minor in theater. There, I found community in the campus ministry The Vine and Second Baptist Church, Springfield, where I served as a small group leader.

During my summers I have worked with National Youth Theater as their Director of Junior Campers (Ages 5-7) and a teen camp counselor.

I am originally from Northwest Houston, TX (Tomball, if you know those parts) and love visiting my family who all live within 30min of one another. I love my two kittens (Gibbs and Sadie) and enjoy spending time with my family and reading (when I'm not doing so for class)!

My other past schools both include Salem Lutheran School (K-8), and Rosehill Christian School (9-12).
